Minneapolis got the rights from Jaques Edmond Turbiaux (French patent of 1882 and US patent of 1883) about the early 1890s. Turbiaux offered in France a PROTECTOR in 6 mm caliber and ten shot and a GAULOIS in 8 mm caliber and seven shot.

Minneapolis Firearms Company (guns were mady by James Duckworth, Springfield, Massachusetts). Production was about 3000. MFC was wiped out of marked for these guns by Chicago Firearms Company mid 1890. .32 extra short r.f. caliber, palm pistol "The Protector"
